An online spring event to experience the holiday atmosphere at home
Dreaming about your next holiday, checking out possible travel destinations and getting a taster of exotic holiday food; for many, the Vakantiebeurs is the ideal event to get excited about and find inspiration for their next trip. And, especially after the past year, all of us need a holiday! However, we are unable to organise a real-life Vakantiebeurs this April, given the corona measures and international travel restrictions. And for that reason, for this once, Vakantiebeurs is going online. This spring, the trade show is coming to the visitors, offering them an online holiday experience.
Experience your next holiday from home
“We are planning a great online event,” says Thecla Amoureus of Vakantiebeurs. “Preparation and anticipation are an important part of the holiday experience. To offer people a bit of that pre-holiday experience, we are planning an interactive online show this spring that allows visitors to really experience that holiday atmosphere at home. Dreaming about your next trip, finding inspiration, participating in fun activities and even tasting holiday food: this year we and a large group of partners from the travel industry want to bring that holiday experience into the home of our visitors.”
International exhibitors
Of course we all want to be able to go on holiday again, and Jaarbeurs, which was the first event venue in the Netherlands to receive the KIWA certificate as a safe event venue, is actually ready to organise events in a safe manner. However, the coronavirus still has a firm grip on the world and certainly on the travel industry. As a result, it will not be possible to physically bring together all those national and international tour operators, tourist offices and travel agencies in early April.
Thecla Amoureus joins the Vakantiebeurs team
On 1 February, Thecla Amoureus took over as Sales Project Manager, leading the team for the next editions of Vakantiebeurs and the Travel Congress. Thecla is no stranger to the travel industry. She brings with her 30 years of experience on both the purchase and sales side in this industry. In the past year, she was Director of Franchise at The Travel Club, where she served as crisis manager during the 2020 corona year and handled communications with independent travel entrepreneurs.
“I believe that travelling enriches your life and broadens your view. The Vakantiebeurs plays a huge role in inspiring people and bringing consumers and the travel industry together. I am really looking forward to inspiring people with the most wonderful ideas, both at our physical events and online, for trips and holidays as soon as we can,” an ambitious Amoureus explains. Commercial director of Jaarbeurs, Peter van der Veer, is pleased with her arrival: “Thecla brings a wealth of experience and knows the travel industry like no other. We look forward to continue to live up to the ambitions of Vakantiebeurs with her ideas and input.”
The next edition of Vakantiebeurs is scheduled for January 2022. Stay up to date on all developments on www.vakantiebeurs.nl.
